history

Since 2012, The Rock of Hope has been supporting, fostering and celebrating the minority group and LGBTI community of Eswatini. Through its work, The Rock of Hope uses trainings, advocacy and communication strategies to influence changes in policy and social practices. In recognition of the role that society plays in the creation of barriers to access to services, The Rock of Hope addresses human rights issues for the marginalized people and is dedicated to the building of a healthy and empowered minority groups in Eswatini.

MISSION

The organization is here to build a society in Eswatini that is free from the stigmatization, discrimination and the oppression of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people (this also includes prisoners and sex workers who fall under the listed categories). The organization through its activities aims to create a very strong and proud society of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the entire kingdom of Eswatini.

OBJECTIVES

Law And Human Rights Enforcement

To promote the protection of human rights and advocate for the legal recognition of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Maximizing LGBTI Community Power

To bring together all gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in order to build a strong, healthy, proud and mutually supportive community of the organization`s members.

Raise Health Awareness And Healthy Lifestyle Promotion

To encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles, to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS and support the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people living with HIV/AIDS

Global Outreach

To link with other communities and organizations that shares the same objectives and aims as ours regionally and internationally.

Social Support and Empowerment

To implement counselling , education and other mutual support and upliftment programs to empower gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, and to also try and to advocate for the acceptance of the members of the organization in their respective communities and families.

To undertake charity activities in our communities and at national level.
